Real estate is my passion! Truly, I consider myself blessed to be able to work in this industry. I enjoy working with all kinds of people throughout the various milestones of life to assist in their housing needs. I’m a family man myself, but I’ve also spent a good deal of time as a single guy. I strive to understand the unique position of each client and the stage life in which they find themselves. If you are starting on a real estate journey, I’d love to hear from you to see if we might be a good fit.
I’m a native Iowan from the small town of Dakota City. I’ve called Des Moines my home since 2008, but I still feel like a small-town guy. Living in the country in Humboldt County during my high school days still has a special place in my heart. I attended ICCC and went on to pursue and obtain a B.S. in Business Management from Iowa State University, graduating in 2005. I also took classes in architecture and I’m very interested in home design.
From a young age, my favorite shows to watch were This Old House and Hometime on IPTV. While I do love older homes, I also enjoy following design trends and seeing how they are incorporated into new construction. Over the years I have worked to develop some home construction skills myself. Some of the jobs I have done include drywalling, painting, tiling, laminate/vinyl flooring installation, lighting installation, decking, and various landscaping projects. I have also remodeled a kitchen and a bathroom down to the studs!
In short, these life experiences help me to be a well-rounded real estate agent. I’ve seen clients struggle with figuring out cost-effective ways to improve their homes. From my experience, I can help offer solutions to maximize home values for both home buyers and sellers.
Community management is how I got started in the real estate industry. I worked as a property manager of a 220 unit complex in West Des Moines for five years and I also managed the neighboring apartment community with another 40 units. The experience I gained from unique and challenging situations during these years helps me to keep real estate deals together! It’s a people business after all.
In 2012, I became a licensed REALTOR® and worked under the Jordan Grove Iowa Realty brokerage for almost five years. I worked alongside one of the company’s top agents and gained invaluable experience in the field. In the fall of 2019, I obtained the status of Broker, and I now work for my own company, PROmetro Realty in West Des Moines, Iowa. I am also a CRS designee (Certified Residential Specialist).
I genuinely work to understand the goals of my clients to help them achieve the best results. I strive for every client to experience a smooth real estate transaction. Some people view real estate transactions as adversarial from the start. I believe that it doesn’t have to be this way. Open communication and thoughtful interactions can go a long way!
I love being part of a real estate company that’s on the leading edge of the industry, PROmetro Realty! I provide a full-service experience to clients looking to purchase or sell a home in Central Iowa. Sellers can truly save big with my low flat fee pricing. I’ve saved homeowners tens of thousands of dollars in fees! If you are selling a home, you can quickly calculate your potential savings. Homebuyers can take advantage of having a dedicated buyer’s agent for free!
